Partnerships and innovation to boost Indian cotton farming.

Fashion For Good has just launched a 2-year project, bringing two leading brands, a textile manufacturer and an innovative start-up into collaboration.

The pilot aims at producing an extra-long staple quality of “radically resource-efficient” cotton in the Indian Gujarat region, using a new and specific technology.

Will the benefits be as high as expected? Will the project be easily scalable? We’ll see.

Meanwhile, let’s underline two encouraging signals given by this initiative. First, stakeholders from the industry partnering together can make concrete actions on the ground happen. Second, integrating fibre quality as one of the project priorities sounds key to its success and replicability.
